Who We Are?

Northern Exposure is Alaska’s only queer sex education conference

But over the years, people have said the same thing again and again: Northern Exposure isn’t a conference.

It’s an experience.

A five-day, jam-packed, completely stacked community experience where people fly in from all over the country and drive in from all over Alaska to learn, connect, play, share meals, stay up too late, have big conversations, and create the kind of memories that get talked about for years.

Since 2010, we’ve brought more than 200 authors, educators, therapists, doctors, researchers, activists, titleholders, and professional kink educators to Alaska to teach on topics ranging from consent and communication to relationships, sexuality, Leather history, power exchange, mental health, and personal responsibility.

We’re a community of queers, kinksters, Leather people, sex geeks, educators, volunteers, curious newcomers, and longtime community members.

We’re rooted in consent culture.

We believe communication matters.

We believe accountability matters.

We believe community is something you help build.

Northern Exposure has become one of those rare things people put on their calendar before they know what the classes will be.

They know they’ll learn something.

They know they’ll laugh.

They know they’ll see old friends and make new ones.

They know they’ll leave tired, happy, and already talking about next year.

This year, we’re inviting you.

Not everybody gets to attend.

Northern Exposure is a vetted event.

The first step is simple.

Text us.

We’ll answer your questions, explain how everything works, and walk you through the vetting process.

If it sounds like a good fit, we’ll send you the registration information.

July is coming.
